Friday, Aug. 30

5:17 p.m. A deputy took a report for an abandoned 10-foot open utility trailer in the 14200 block of Road 35.9, Mancos. The deputy’s report states there was no VIN number found on it nor was there a license plate attached, it was impounded to the Montezuma County Sheriffs Office Impound Lot.

10:08 p.m. A deputy took a report for a cold break-in at a residence in the 5600 block of U.S. Highway 160.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

12:11 p.m. A deputy took a report for a stolen vehicle in the 7500 block of U.S. Highway 160. The reporting business stated that they took a $3,000 check from a man who lives in Albuquerque for the down payment of the vehicle on May 23, which was returned as insufficient funds. The report also states they gave the accused three months to pay the $3,000 while still in possession of the vehicle the check was written for, the accused also did not make any monthly payments which they were expecting on July 6. The deputy states in the report he will be pursuing fraud by check and motor vehicle theft charges against the man.

Thursday, Sept. 12

11:15 a.m. A deputy took a report of a fraudulent $100 check that was received from a deceased woman’s frozen account from a business owner at the Montezuma County Sheriffs Office, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, Sept. 27

10:49 a.m. An officer took a report for an abandoned vehicle that was towed by Mancos Towing at 715 Railroad Ave, Dolores.

Saturday, Sept. 28

2:43 a.m. A deputy arrested a woman on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the intersection of Chestnut and Coronado streets. The deputy’s report states the woman who was driving a blue SUV pulled out onto the highway in front of him causing him to brake in order to avoid a collision then immediately changed lanes without signaling.

9:34 p.m. A deputy cited a woman with assault in the third-degree in the 25300 block of Road G.

Tuesday, Oct. 1

2:13 a.m. A deputy arrested a man on suspicion of violating two protection orders by stalking a woman who is protected from him, domestic violence and third-degree trespass for being at a property he is restrained from in the 31000 Colorado Highway 184, Dolores.

Wednesday, Oct. 2

10:05 a.m. A deputy cited a man with third-degree assault after an altercation happened between another man and himself at 2279 Hawkins St. The man stated he was angry and in the heat of the moment he choked the other man in the basement where they are both employed because he was giving him smirks while they were at work and the smirking man owed him money for the rental of a property he owns.

6:07 p.m. A deputy arrested a man on a warrant who was turning himself into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:10 p.m. A deputy arrested a man on a warrant in the 17400 block of U.S. Highway 491, Lewis.

Thursday, Oct. 3

2:19 p.m. A deputy cited a man with failure to provide proof of insurance in the 21000 block of Road G.

Friday, Oct. 4

12:30 a.m. A deputy responded to a report of a maroon vehicle parked at Eagle Claw and there was a male lying next to the vehicle, when the deputy was in route dispatch notified him that the vehicle was reported heading south and had almost crashed into another vehicle and he found the vehicle in the Ute Mountain Casino parking lot. The deputy’s report states that he then contacted the Bureau of Indian Affairs as he was out of the jurisdiction of the Montezuma County Sheriffs Office in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The deputy’s report states he assisted the Ute Mountain law enforcement officer in arresting the man who had warrants associated with his license plate. The man was taken into custody by the tribal officer.

1:52 p.m. A deputy arrested a woman on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass at 11934 Road 39.2, Mancos.

3:46 p.m. A deputy took a report for an assault in the 24445 Road L.

Sunday, Oct. 6

9:26 p.m. A deputy cited a man with first-degree trespass at 24434 Road G.1.

Monday, Oct. 7

8:58 a.m. A deputy cited a man with failure to latch bear-resistant trash container at 207 N. Ninth St., Dolores.

9:34 a.m. A deputy arrested a man on a warrant at 207 N. Ninth St., Dolores.

2:41 p.m. A deputy cited a woman with speeding, three counts of child abuse and reckless driving in the 30,000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The deputy’s report states the woman was driving 86 mph in a 65 mph zone with three small children who had no safety seats and one child was not buckled up.
