1:31 a.m. A burglary was reported in the 29400 block of County Road L. A comforter and sound system were missing. Tire and shoe prints were found on scene. The case is under investigation.
Sunday, June 7
8:13 p.m. Credit card fraud was reported in the 24700 block of U.S. Highway 491. A woman’s credit card was used to make over $1,700 in purchases, and her address was used to open a new credit card. The case is under investigation.
Thursday, June 18
11:08 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of two counts of aggravated animal cruelty, and his dog was surrendered to a deputy in the 28300 block of County Road K.2. A neighbor saw videos posted on Facebook of the man mistreating a dog and reported him. The dog was taken for treatment and left in the care of the Cortez Animal Shelter.
Saturday, June 20
8:29 p.m. A vicious dog was reported in the 27100 block of Colorado Highway 184. Security footage showed a pit bull dog charging a man. The victim reported it had happened several times on previous occasions. The owner was informed of Montezuma County dog ordinances.
Thursday, June 25
11:55 a.m. An officer escorted a man who had been remanded into custody from Montezuma Combined Courts to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
12:36 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass in the 29000 block of County Road V.6. A woman crossed onto private property while hiking. The property was fenced and gated.
5:02 p.m. Fraud was reported in the 100 block of 15th Street, Dolores. A woman purchased a travel trailer through eBay Inc. using gift cards, as the seller had instructed. She became suspicious and was told by the eBay Insurance Department that the transaction was a scam and should be reported to law enforcement. The case was transferred to CBI for follow up.
Saturday, June 27
3:30 p.m. Theft of a camera was reported in the 1700 block of East Seventh Street. Two women got into a verbal altercation and one of the women got out of the car and took her property from the back seat, including the other woman’s camera. She returned the camera the next day with no damage.
Sunday, June 28
10:58 p.m. A dog killed six chickens in the 200 block of North 14th Street, Dolores. The dog was a medium-size white dog and is still at large.
Monday, June 29
7:59 a.m. Harassment was reported in the 12800 block of County Road 29. Several neighbors were harassing a woman about her chickens being too noisy. Harassment was happening when her husband was gone and included threats to kill the animals and blasting an air horn by their house. The suspects were informed that if the behavior continued they could be charged with harassment.
11:06 a.m. A man turned himself in for an active arrest warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
Wednesday, July 1
2:58 a.m. A domestic issue was reported in the 23600 block of County Road F.5. The deputy found no evidence of an altercation and the woman who reported the issue later recanted.
9:15 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of failure to comply for an original charge of controlled substances at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.
