Thursday, Dec. 12

1:23 a.m. An officer took a report of a man disturbing the peace by playing his music loudly and possibly in violation of a protection order that states he shall not have contact with the reporting woman’s husband at 403½ E. Montezuma Ave. The officer said he would seek an arrest warrant.

7:18 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of indecent exposure and trespassing for urinating on the building at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

Friday, Dec. 13

12:29 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a woman who was being transported into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:56 p.m. An officer served two warrants to a man at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:53 p.m. An officer cited a Walmart employee with the theft in the amount of $162.73 for a Pokemon Ultra, a gaming keyboard, a Christmas wrap kit and a Christmas gift bag. The officer also issued him a one-year trespass notice from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Saturday, Dec. 14

10:55 a.m. An officer cited a man with open container and arrested him on suspicion of interfering with an officer and trespassing at The Pie Maker, 17 N. Harrison St. The report states the man repeatedly refused the direction of the officer to vacate the premises adjacent to the property, and he insisted that he be arrested.

1:12 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of robbery at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St. The victim stated the man entered his home during his wife’s birthday party and asked if he had marijuana to smoke. When the man was refused, he took a small brass pipe that held sentimental value to the victim. The arresting officer found the pipe in the man’s back pocket.

6:23 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that prohibits him from possessing or consuming alcohol at the Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St. The report states the man was found under a trailer after an investigating officer saw a large hole in the skirting of the trailer and blue pants and white shoes were visible through the hole.

Sunday, Dec. 15

5:39 a.m. An officer took a report for a cold assault and protection order violation at the Patron Nightclub, 309 N. Broadway. A woman said a man struck her and broke her window after she tried to intervene between her female friend and the friend’s ex-boyfriend. She told the officer that she knows the man is restrained from her friend and during an argument he struck her in the face, causing her to fall and scrape her shoulder and knee. He then allegedly broke her passenger side window and threatened to follow her home. The woman later confessed to slashing the man’s tires, and that was why he threatened her with a hammer and broke her window. The officer planned to seek an arrest warrant for the man on suspicion of a protection order violation.

12:55 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on suspicion of a protection order violation that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol or controlled substances at 223 E. Fourth St. The report states that during the heavily intoxicated woman’s arrest she told officer’s she would be suing them for putting their hands on her while she was pregnant, her blood alcohol level was .349 BrAC and a marijuana pipe was found in her possession.

2:55 p.m. An intoxicated woman with a walker was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary in the amount of $31.04 for deli food and drinks she ingested while trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

3:46 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, harassment, obstruction and disorderly conduct at 1226 Montelores Ave. The report states the man smelled of alcohol and chemicals, was overly agitated and displaying behaviors associated with meth use and spit toward officers. A neighbor initially reported that the man threatened her and her dogs with violence.

9:15 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant at 806 S. Oak St. The officer stated he saw the woman in the vehicle with a man he knew had three arrest warrants, the officer attempted to make contact with the man, who ran into the residence. The officer reported that he would seek an arrest warrant on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer.

Monday, Dec. 16

1:53 a.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of DUI, driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more, careless driving, and failure to present proof of insurance near Burger King, 520 W. Main St. The report states the man hit a light poll and the car overturned.

9:15 p.m.: A man was arrested at West Third and South Chestnut streets on a warrant from Mesa County.

11:25 p.m.: A woman was cited after a stop at West Fourth Street and South Linden Street with violating a protection order and possessing drug paraphernalia, and a man from the same car was arrested on two warrants, providing false information to an officer and possessing drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

8:40 a.m.: A man was cited for indecent exposure at the Piñon Project after allegedly exposing himself while urinating outside Cortez Fire Station 1, 31 N. Washington St.

2:54 p.m. A man was cited with shoplifting and trespassing in the 300 block of East Main Street after allegedly stealing a 24-ounce beer from City Market, 508 E. Main St.

3:20 p.m.: A woman with a walker was cited with trespassing at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park Street.

9:31 p.m. A man stopped at Speedway gas station, 921 E. Main St., was cited with trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., and for driving with a license that had been revoked because of 29 active cases.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

2:29 a.m.: A man who was found sleeping in a car at East Fourth and South Ash streets was arrested on suspicion of DUI and failing to present proof of insurance and booked at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

10:34 p.m.: A male driver was pulled over near East Seventh Avenue and South Sligo Street and arrested on warrants from Montezuma County Combined Courts.
