Thursday, July 4

3:13 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the city of Cortez Pool, 803 E. Montezuma Ave.

3:38 p.m. An officer arrested a man on two warrants at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

5:02 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant near Burger Boy, 400 E. Main St.

5:41 p.m. An officer on bicycle patrol in the 400 block of N. Mildred Road attempted the traffic stop of a man known to have had his license revoked who eluded his pursuit to investigate. The officer said in his report that he would request a warrant for the man on suspicion of vehicular eluding, driving a vehicle when license revoked express consent, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, speeding 40 mph-plus, disregarding stop sign, and failing to drive vehicle in right hand lane.

11:04 p.m. An officer took a report for shots fired at the Skate Park, 1200 E. Montezuma Ave.

Friday, July 5

12:04 a.m. An officer arrested a man causing a disturbance on two warrants at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

2:36 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

9:40 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of violating a no contact no exceptions protection order, drove a vehicle when license HTO, material of front windows presented nontransparent appearance, and displayed expired number plates in the 500 block of E. Third St.

Saturday, July 6

1:42 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of trespassing at Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St.

5:47 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular eluding, reckless driving, resisting arrest, and speeding after taking officers on a three-minute car chase and being stopped near the Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St.

8:15 a.m. An officer took a report for a stolen 1911 Les Bare .45-caliber firearm with a black and brown wooden handle in the 1800 block of Hermosa Street.

12:44 p.m. An officer took a report for a stolen 26-inch Trek bicycle that was locked to a handicap sign outside of the Cortez Recreation Center, 425 N. Roger Smith Ave. The reporting party called the officer to tell the officer that he was following the person in possession of his bike at 1301 hours, another officer cited the man in possession of the stolen bike with theft near the rec center baseball fields.

2:23 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant at the Speedway, 921 E. Main St.

8:04 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant near City Market, 508 E. Main St.

11:17 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer at the Cortez Elks Club, 2100 N. Dolores Road.

Sunday, July 7

12:27 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment at 301 N. Henry St.

2:29 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at 1 N. Harrison St.

4:35 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant that was turning himself into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:43 p.m. A man was arrested for violation of a no-contact, no-exceptions protection order, DUID, and driving without a valid driver’s license at 1002 E. Second St.

Monday, July 8

9:12 a.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol in the 600 block of E. Third St.

11:04 a.m. An officer took a report for a stolen vehicle at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

12:44 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant who was reportedly door-checking cars near Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St.

1:23 p.m. An officer arrested a man who showed up to court under the influence of alcohol, the man was arrested on suspicion of contempt of court at City Hall, 123 N. Roger Smith Ave.

8:19 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant outside City Market, 508 E. Main St.

Tuesday, July 9

12:41 a.m. An officer cited a woman with third-degree assault and arrested a man on a warrant outside the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

11:04 a.m. An officer arrested and served a warrant to a man turning himself into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:47 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant for failing to appear. She was remanded by the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

2:29 p.m. An officer cited a man with indecent exposure at the Cortez City Pool, 803 E. Montezuma Ave.

7:13 p.m. An officer cited a man with violating his bond conditions at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

9:28 p.m. An officer cited a man with open container, trespassing and possession of alcohol in the park at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

10:40 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating bond conditions, indecent exposure and resisting arrest/interfering with an officer at the Church of Christ, 631 E. Montezuma Ave. The man was also issued a forever trespass notice.

Wednesday, July 10

10:35 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Aneth Lodge, 645 E. Main St., he was also issued trespass notices from the Aneth Lodge, the Tomahawk, and the White Eagle Inn.

5:02 p.m. An officer arrested a man on three warrants outside of Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St.

8:04 p.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

11:08 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failed to present proof of insurance, disregarded stop sign, and vehicle validation tab improperly attached in the 11000 block of Road 25.
