Wednesday, Jan. 16

9:33 a.m.: A man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

10:33 a.m.: A man was cited for trespass at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St. He had an active trespass notice through June 2019. He said he was waiting for his wife.

12:06 a.m.: The man who was cited for trespass at the Cortez Public Library was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St. He had an active trespass notice. He said he was waiting for his wife but had no phone. Before transport to Montezuma County Detention Center, he was medically cleared at the hospital for intoxication with a .333 BAC.

3:58 p.m.: A man was arrested on charges of DUI, driving without insurance or a license, resisting arrest, violating bond conditions and running a red light at Main St. and Mildred Road. On Dec. 29, he was arrested for DUI for leading officers from several agencies on a car chase through Cortez.

5:23 p.m.: A man was arrested on three active warrants at Medicine Man, 310 E. Main St.

8:37 p.m.: A man was arrested on a charge of felony menacing for threatening to shoot people with a gun outside City Market, 508 E. Main St. An officer arrived, drew his gun and ordered the man to show his hands. The man put his hands out and said, “Do what you have to do.” As the man continued walking, the officer holstered his gun and tackled him. An officer used a stun device to get him into a patrol vehicle. When he was being transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital, he allegedly kicked an officer, knocking the body camera off his uniform.

Thursday, Jan. 17

3:33 p.m.: A woman in the 1300 block of Melrose St. was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

4:41 p.m.: A man was cited for trespass at City Market, 508 E. Main St. He is trespassed from City Market.

Friday, Jan. 18

4:41 p.m.: A man was cited for trespass at McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St. The McDonald’s manager said he has come to the restaurant several times and argues when asked to leave.

2:41 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1100 block of E. Montezuma Ave. on a warrant for failure to appear.

5:26 p.m.: A man accused of stealing a bike was arrested for resisting arrest and on four active warrants. At Big O Tires, 1856 E. Main St., an officer on foot chased the man on the bike as another officer pulled his patrol vehicle in front of the man. He hit the vehicle and was thrown from his bike.
