Saturday, March 9

12:24 p.m.: A man was cited for disturbing the peace after a fight with another man on the 100 block of W. North St.

11:49 p.m.: A man was arrested on charges of DUI, driving without a seat belt, failing to provide proof of insurance, failure to stop at a stop sign and open container on the 100 block of S. Linden St. He allegedly ran a stop sign on Linden St., nearly hitting a Cortez police vehicle. Several bottles of alcohol were found in the car and on his body, and he refused chemical testing during arrest and booking. At Montezuma County Detention Center, he blew a 0.224 BAC.

Sunday, March 10

11:38 p.m.: A man on pretrial bond conditions that state he cannot consume alcohol was arrested for violating bond conditions as he exited Cork N Bottle, 443 E. Main St., with four bottles of alcohol in his jacket. He said he purchased the alcohol for a group of people waiting at the car wash. The officer took photos of the factory-sealed bottles and then disposed of them.

7:20 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St.

10:26 p.m.: Two vehicles collided on the 10 block of N. Mildred Road while both were stopped at a red light.

Monday, March 11

4:41 p.m.: A woman at the Cozy Inn, 440 S. Broadway, was arrested on warrant after employees reported she was refusing to leave after a civil issue regarding payment. During her arrest, the woman called the police officer “albino” and said she was going to have someone spit on his wife and rape his children.

10:24 p.m.: A man was arrested for violating a protection order stating he cannot possess or consume alcohol or controlled substances on the 500 block of W. Fifth St. A resident reported that he had knocked on their door and said he needed protection from someone chasing him. He allegedly was intoxicated, and officers found meth on his person.

Tuesday, March 12

11:58 a.m.: Two vehicles collided at the intersection of E. Main St. and N. Dolores Road. The driver of an Oldsmobile SUV was cited for failing to turn while in a turn-only lane, and the driver of a Dodge pickup was cited for failure to yield right of way at a stop sign.

2:54 p.m.: A man with a nonexpiring trespass notice from City Market, at 508 E. Main St., was cited for trespassing at City Market.

4:00 p.m.: A man wearing a clown mask with no shoes or shirt was arrested at Walmart, at 1835 E. Main St., after saying “Chemical warfare” and spraying a woman with automotive fluid. He was arrested on charges of criminal attempt of second-degree assault, felony menacing, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. The woman said she was scared and didn’t know what substance the man sprayed on her. Her clothing and shoes, valued at $240, were damaged by the oil, and she wished to press charges.

Wednesday, March 13

12:05 a.m.: A man was arrested for trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. He was intoxicated and was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before taken to Montezuma County Detention Center.

10:35 a.m.: A woman was served a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, at 865 N. Park St.

4:01 p.m.: A man was served a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, at 865 N. Park St.

4:34 p.m.: A man was arrested for trespassing and stealing a bottle of Listerine from Safeway, 1580 E. Main St. He had a previous indefinite trespass notice from Safeway. The Listerine was valued at $6.99.

5:47 p.m.: A woman was cited for attempting to steal a $2.88 notebook from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

7:26 p.m.: A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a failure to appear warrant.

Thursday, March 14

3:12 p.m.: A man was served a failure to appear warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, at 865 N. Park St.

6:52 p.m.: A man was arrested for violating a protection order on the 10 block of W. Coronado Ave.

8:18 p.m.: An intoxicated male who was reportedly attempting to enter vehicles on the 600 block of S. Ash St. was arrested for violating a protection order that states he cannot possess or consume alcohol.

Friday, March 15

11:05 a.m.: A woman was cited for stealing $83.30 in clothing, hygiene items, socks and cups from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

1:16 p.m.: A man was arrested on two failure to comply warrants on the 400 block of W. Seventh St.

Saturday, March 16

3:39 a.m.: A man was arrested on charges of DUI, failure to signal and failure to present proof of insurance on the 500 block of S. Chestnut St. He hit and went over the curb when an officer pulled him over.

8:20 a.m.: A man driving a U-Haul moving truck scraped the overhang at the Best Western, at 535 E. Main St. He agreed to pay the hotel $500 for the damages and was not cited.

2:37 p.m.: A man hit a gas meter with a vehicle at Long Trailer Park, 1016 E. Main St., on March 7 but did not report the damage. The trailer park maintenance person was working on a roof when he smelled a strong odor of gas coming from an adjacent unit. He noticed damage to the gas meter that had been run over and called dispatch.

Sunday, March 17

12:29 a.m.: A man suspected of racing another man driving a pickup truck with loud exhaust was arrested for DUI, failing to signal and open container on the 400 block of S. Maple St. He told an officer that he had been drinking with some friends and had a couple of beers.

Monday, March 18

4:05 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant on the 400 block of S. Maple St.

3:49 p.m.: Two vehicles collided on the 600 block of S. Cedar St. as they both attempted to back out of driveways.

Tuesday, March 19

9:15 p.m.: A woman was arrested for stealing a $22.89 bottle of apple pie moonshine from the Cork N Bottle, at 443 E. Main St.
