Tuesday, Feb. 26

9:25 a.m.: A man was arrested for DUI on the 2200 block of E. Main St. A woman called police when the driver of a red Toyota came into the Giant Gas Station, 2320 E. Main St., while intoxicated.

10:32 a.m.: A man reported that someone had possibly vandalized his vehicle on the 600 block of W. Seventh St. There were no leads or suspects.

Wednesday, Feb. 27

10:08 a.m.: A man in a holding cell at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a warrant.

Thursday, Feb. 28

11:33 a.m.: A man was arrested for DUI, driving on a canceled license and open container on the 500 block of N. Mildred Road. He was driving a Dodge Durango with the front bumper partially attached and the left read plastic fender dragging on the tire. He admitted to drinking a pint of Jose Cuervo 30 minutes before and said the damage was due to his driving.

10:21 a.m.: A woman in the holding cell at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a warrant.

Friday, March 1

1:16 a.m.: A man was arrested for DUI on the 1500 block of E. Main St. after driving on the wrong side of the road, making a turn from the wrong lane and weaving. He admitted to drinking a Four Loko and said he did not feel safe to drive.

Saturday, March 2

1:17 p.m.: A man was wrongfully arrested at City Park, at 802 E. Main St. Two officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the Colorado Welcome Center at Cortez, at 928 E. Main St., and found several people standing at the bathrooms in the nearby park. An officer mistook two men with similar names, one of which had an active warrant. The man who was arrested was intoxicated, had urinated on himself and was difficult to communicate with. He was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital for medical clearance because of intoxication, at which point officers realized they arrested the wrong man. He was immediately released, and officers filed an absolvement of arrest. He was then able to communicate much better and was dropped off back at the park.

Sunday, March 3

2:33 a.m.: A man was arrested on a protection order violation at the Travelodge, 1120 E. Main St. A hotel employee called police after two people in a hotel room were being loud. A man in the room had a protection order stating he cannot consume alcohol.

4:59 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant on the 700 block of S. Broadway.

Monday, March 4

5:34 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant when she was discharged from Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Rd.

11:08 p.m.: A woman driving a beige Cadillac SUV with a defective headlight attempted to evade a police sergeant by pulling over and turning off the car on the 100 block of West Main St. The sergeant used a PA to tell the driver to put her hands out the window and then exit the vehicle. She admitted that she was trying to get away from the sergeant. She was arrested on charges of driving on a revoked license, displaying a defective headlight and driving without insurance.

Tuesday, March 5

1:58 p.m.: A man was arrested on a Cortez municipal warrant after police contacted the man for walking in the roadway and yelling on the 400 block of N. Mildred Road.
