12:36 a.m. An officer was called to the 10 block of West Empire Street about a report of vandalism. Windows in a house had been damaged. A woman had received a message from a fake Facebook account that stated her windows would be broken. The officer filed a report, but no suspects could be identified.
8:54 a.m. An officer was dispatched to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., to issue a warrant to a man. The man was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
2:53 p.m. An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of Stratton Drive about a dog running loose. An officer located the owner of a missing husky-type large dog. The owner did not provide proof of a rabies vaccination and was cited for having an unlicensed dog, failing to prove the dog had a rabies vaccination and having a dog running loose.
6:37 p.m. An officer was dispatched to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., about a shoplifting report. The officer cited a woman for shoplifting after viewing a surveillance video that showed the suspect paying for a shopping bag but not for the pair of pants inside it.
Wednesday, Oct. 16
11:33 a.m. An officer was dispatched to Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St., for a report of found property. Employees gave the officer two credit cards. The officer called the owner, who said she had canceled the credit cards and asked that they be destroyed.
9:31 p.m. An officer was dispatched to Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., about a trespasser. After initially contacting the trespassing suspect, the officer was notified another man was causing a disturbance by trying to take food from other tables and cussing at people. The man was arrested for disturbing the peace and left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.
Thursday, Oct. 17
7:40 p.m. An officer stopped a GMC pickup in the 700 block of East Main Street for driving with an expired license plate. The man did not have a valid driver’s license and lacked insurance for the vehicle. He as arrested on two active warrants and issued a summons for operating an uninsured vehicle and driving with a suspended license. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
10:05: p.m. an officer stopped a white Toyota after watching it weaving in traffic lanes and almost hitting a curb. While speaking with the male driver, the officer could detect an “overwhelming” odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The man failed roadside sobriety tests. He was issued a breath-analysis test that showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.115. The man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and left in custody Montezuma County Detention Center.
10:16 p.m. An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of North Park Street about a verbal disturbance. An officer contacted a man who had blood on his face. The man also had a protection order that barred him from consuming alcohol. The man was arrested for violating a protection order and resisting arrest. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Friday, Oct. 18
3:32 p.m. An officer was dispatched to Walmart about a man sleeping in the restroom. The man was uncooperative and cussed at the officer as the officer attempted to cite him for trespassing. The man crumbled the citation and verbally abused the officer. The man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Saturday, Oct. 19
11:28 a.m. An officer was called to the 400 block of South Market Street about a report of a dog at large. The dog’s owner had an active warrant, and he was arrested and left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.
10:28 p.m. An officer was called to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., about a report of a shoplifting. A video surveillance showed a woman only pay for about one of every five items she place in bags at the checkout. The woman was contacted after she was identified. She was hostile and uncooperative to officers. The woman was issued a summons for shoplifting.
Sunday, Oct 20
1:21 a.m. An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Elm Street about a disturbance that had started in a house and had entered the alley. A man who had a bottle of 99-proof Bananas Liqueur in his possession was questioned. He was arrested for violating a protection order that barred consumption of alcohol. The man was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Monday, Oct. 21
1:17 p.m. An officer filed a report about a burglary that had occurred over the weekend in the 300 block of Maple Street. Several tools had been stolen including a Dewalt hand drill, a Makita hand drill and reciprocating saw. No suspects could be identified.
