Wednesday, May 22

10:55 a.m. An officer issued a warrant to a woman at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and left her in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

10:43 a.m. An officer responded to a hit-and-run at Main Street and Harrison Street. A driver in a car traveling east on Main Street failed to stop at a red light at Harrison and hit a car on Harrison that was headed south. The driver in the car on Main Street fled the scene. The car on Harrison sustained front-end damage.

1:01 p.m. An officer issued a warrant to a woman at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and left her in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

2:29 p.m. An officer in the 200 block of south Chestnut Street recognized a man with an active arrest warrant. The officer arrested the man and left him in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

3:13 p.m. An officer in the 100 block of west Main Street recognized a man who had an active felony arrest warrant issued to him. The man was arrested and left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

4:22 p.m. An officer was called to the 500 block of east Third Street about a verbal disturbance. The officer arrested a man who had an outstanding arrest warrant. The man was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

7:13 p.m. An officer was called to the 500 block of south Elm Street concerning a report that someone had broken into an unoccupied house. The officer discovered three woman in the house. The officer arrested one of the woman on an outstanding warrant. The woman was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center. The other two woman were released after the officer failed to contact the homeowner to see if the woman had permission to be in the house.

7:35 p.m. An officer was called to Arby’s, 504 S. Broadway, on the report of theft of cash from a graduation card that was left in the restaurant’s office. The officer could not determine who had stolen the cash.

11:22 p.m. An officer served active arrest warrants to two men at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, May 23

12:06 a.m. An officer responded to a traffic accident at W. Seventh Street and South Broadway. Both drivers claimed they had the green light. One driver was southbound on South Broadway, and the other driver was eastbound on west Seventh Street. The driver of the southbound vehicle was arrested for driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance.

12:28 a.m. An officer was dispatched to Walmart, 1825 E. Main St., on a shoplifting call. Staff members at Walmart said a man loaded a red sport-utility vehicle with about $3,363 worth of stolen merchandise. The stolen merchandise included two tarps, a Shark iconic vacuum, a Kodak instant camera, two Food Savers and three HP Pavilions. The man was last seen in the SUV vehicle leaving Walmart with the items.

2:26 a.m. An officer issued an outstanding warrant to an inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, May 24

1:56 a.m. An officer was dispatched to the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St. on a disturbance call. When the officer arrived, he discovered two officers already on the scene and beer bottles and liquor bottles littering the home. The officer assisted the two other officers in pulling a man off the woman. The man, who was uncooperative, was arrested for violating a protection order and for domestic violence. He was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

2:36 a.m. An officer was dispatched to Safeway, 1580 E. Main St., concerning a report of a fight in progress between two men. After speaking with witnesses, the officer arrested one of the men and served him with a summons for harassment. The man was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

5 p.m. An officer issued an outstanding misdemeanor warrant to a woman inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:44 p.m. An officer was called to the parking lot of the Holiday Inn, 2121 E. Main St., about a parking-lot crash. A car with six occupants had hit a parked car. The parked car suffered minor damage, and the drivers of both cars exchanged contact and insurance information with each other.

9:05 p.m. An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Main St. to assist on a traffic crash. The officer recognized one of the drivers had an active arrest warrant for driving under the influence. The woman was arrested and issued a summons for with a revoked license. The woman was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Saturday, May 25

2:25 a.m. An officer was dispatched to a traffic crash in the initial block of south Beech Street. A man involved in the crash smelled of alcohol. The man was arrested for DUI. He was taken to the police department, where a breath-analysis test showed he had a blood-alcohol content of 1.31. A woman picked up the man at the police department, and he was left in her care.

3:21 p.m. An officer was dispatched to City Park, 802 E. Main St., about a man lying face down near the restrooms. The man became hostile when greeted by the officer, and he also appeared intoxicated. The man was in possession of a 375 milliliter bottle of Kentucky Deluxe Whiskey. The man was placed in custody and issued a summons for an open container of alcohol in the park. The man was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:13 p.m. An officer stopped the driver of a vehicle in the parking lot of Angel’s End Zone sports bar after witnessing the vehicle speeding in the 100 block of Piñon Drive. The driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license. He was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Monday, May 27

2:35 a.m. An officer was called to Walmart about a possible disturbance. The officer made contact with an individual who was suspected of taking someone’s keys in the initial block of Cactus St. The man was arrested on an active warrant for failure to appear, and he was left custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

2:26 p.m. A man was arrested in the parking lot of the Cortez Recreation Center, 425 N. Roger Smith Ave., on an outstanding warrant. The man was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Tuesday, May 28

12:01 a.m. An officer was called to the 800 block of north Edith Street about several suspicious people in the area. A woman was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant. She was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

1:25 p.m. An officer recognized a woman driving in the 300 block of N. Chestnut Street whom he believed had a revoked driver’s license. The woman was arrested after the officer confirmed she was driving with a revoked license. The woman was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

2:13 p.m. An officer issued an outstanding warrant to an inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
