A memorial service and celebration for Sgt. 1st Class Will Lindsay will be held this Saturday at Parque de Vida in Cortez.
A Cortez native and Montezuma-Cortez High School grad, Lindsay was a Green Beret based at Fort Carson. He was killed in March during combat operations in Kunduz Province, Afghanistan, along with a fellow Fort Carson soldier from Ohio. He was 33 years old.
The Saturday service will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Amphitheater in the park at 400 N. Mildred Road.
