Mancos artist Beth Wheeler recently spent several weeks in Germany and England to enhance her studies of calligraphy.
Her new show, "The Art of Calligraphy," opens at the Mancos Town Gallery (in the Mancos Valley Visitors' Center, 103 E. Bauer at Boyle Park) on Friday, April 12, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wheeler will show new works and photographs from her studies in Europe. The reception includes refreshments and live music.
Wheeler is a multi-talented person. Besides her calligraphy work, she is a master teacher, musician (flute and conga drum) and, most recently, a tap dancer. She works during the summer as an interpretive guide at Mesa Verde National Park.
