Panther soccer and cross-country teams close out season

The Bulldogs’ 20th win of the 2024 volleyball season proved to be the league clincher, as Dove Creek outlasted Ignacio in five sets on Saturday to secure its second San Juan Basin League title in the past three years.

Upcoming matches against Sanford and Ridgway will serve as final tuneup opportunities for the Bulldogs before they jump into the 1A regional rounds.

Panthers boys soccer drops back-to-back matches

Montezuma-Cortez dropped its final two league matches of the season, falling 3-1 Thursday against Bayfield and losing 1-0 Friday against Alamosa.

Six seniors bid farewell to the program, capping their 2024 campaign with a 3-11-1 record.

Montezuma-Cortez cross-country takes part in regionals

The boys team placed ninth at the 3A Region 2 meet Thursday at North Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs, while the girls finished 10th.

On the boys side, senior Corbin Myers placed 41st in the field, while sophomore William Blair placed 46th. For the girls, senior Sophie Wright took 62nd overall in her final meet.
