‘We don’t have to take away the best family beach around’

My grandson and I have passed many a wonderful lazy afternoon at the Narraguinnep Beach. In a busy world of rules, laws and expectations, that beach was a refuge of solitude, beauty and simplicity. I like to think he will always remember these days like I remember growing up fishing at the old pond in Louisiana when I was his age.

I am not accusing CDOW of government overreach or excess bureaucratic enthusiasm, but wouldn’t common sense indicate the need for regulatory reflection? I certainly see the wisdom of requiring life jackets for boaters, but we don’t have to take away the best family beach around and force folks to drive to Jackson Lake and pay $10 for a muddy beach.
