Warrant for woman issued about 10 days after alleged incident

A warrant has been issued for Kaneisha Ten, 27, who reportedly hit a man with her vehicle near Mesa Elementary, 703 W. Seventh St., on Jan. 11 and fled the scene.

An officer was dispatched to the area near Mesa Elementary School on Jan. 11 around 1:48 p.m. after receiving reports of domestic violence.

The reporting party, Adriana Tullis, spoke with officer Joseph Yen about the incident. Tullis told Yen she saw a female driving in a gray Impala and following a man, yelling and harassing him as he walked. Near the east parking lot of Mesa, the woman hit the man with the vehicle and then drove eastbound on Seventh Street.

Officer Michael Rivas met with the victim, who was identified as Andrew Little. Little was being treated for “minor wounds” by EMS. Little said that he and the woman, Ten, had been in a relationship for 12 years.

Officers responded to Oak Meadow Apartments, 405 W. Seventh St., where they were advised Ten may be staying, as her grandmother lives in the apartments. When they arrived, they saw the Impala that Ten was reported to be driving.

When contacting Ten’s grandmother, they were told Ten was not at the residence. She provided police with Ten’s phone number, but she didn’t answer the phone.

Little contacted police later and said Ten was sending him text messages about hitting him with the car. Little uploaded four photos of the text conversation to www.evidence.com.

The police report shared the contents of the text messages. One message reportedly read, “Yup I guess I hit you with my car. Hopefully your flat (expletive) made another dent or scratch!!” Another message said they would “dodge Cortez police … Cause I’m that smart” and “I’m leaving Colorado now. Getting my (expletive) and getting the (expletive) out!! Thanks for everything you done/did to me!”

The texts also had comments about “another female,” implying he had a relationship with them, according to the report.

Officer Tyler Smith said he told Little to “ignore the messages” from Ten and “make sure he and the kids were safe.”

In his report, Smith said he would seek a warrant for second-degree assault, domestic violence and failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving injury.
