‘Voting against bill, taking credit deceitful’

How typical to see U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert’s misleading claim that she “passed nine important provisions” to benefit 3rd Congressional District constituents in the recent 2023 Appropriations Act. To the contrary, while HR-8294, containing important measures to help families and communities, create jobs, support small businesses and lower the cost of living, did pass the House, Boebert recklessly voted against it as she has voted against so many other important pieces of legislation designed to help Coloradans. Let’s be clear, voting against a bill, then taking credit for its provisions is deceitful.

Fortunately, for our country and its residents, not one Boebert-sponsored bill has passed the House. Her bills would have been extremely destructive to our country, negatively affecting public health, safe communities, freedom of choice, civil discourse, compassionate care for COVID-19 victims and participation with our global partners in protecting the environment and world health. She has further wasted our hard-earned tax dollars sponsoring absurd and baseless resolutions calling for the impeachment of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Her attention-seeking antics have made CD-3 a national embarrassment. Is this what we expect from our CD-3 representative? Personally, I don’t think so.
