Volunteers helped library launch Craftapalooza

The Cortez Public Library would like to thank the following non-profits and businesses which pulled together to make our first annual Craftapalooza! such a success:

The Montelores Early Childhood Council, Four Corners Miniatures Club, Parents as Teachers (The Piñon Project), YEP (Youth Empowerment Project of The Pinon Project), Cortez Public Library volunteers, Jim Baxstrom and his robotic car, Safecare Colorado, Girl Scout Troop 2619, Cortez Quilt Co., Moose & More Ice Cream, McDonald’s of Cortez, Aaron’s of Cortez

Because of everybody’s hard work, we had approximately 120 children enjoy crafts and a cool treat from Moose & More Ice Cream and get bottled water from Aaron’s. Families “worked” for Happy Meal gift certificates from McDonald’s by making the rounds and visiting each table. Girl Scout Troop 2619 pulled weeds in preparation for landscaping and enjoyed making crafts afterwards.

If your nonprofit or business would like to participate next year please contact the library by calling 970-565-8117 and asking for Eric, Lisa or Laura.
