The Cortez Fire Protection District is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters.
If you want to give back to your community, and a sense of dedication, the district wants to train you to safely aid in the mitigation of various emergencies.
Candidates must pass a three-phase testing process including a written exam, physical-ability test, and an interview.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a clean background and pass a drug/alcohol test.
For information, contact the Cortez Fire Protection District at (970) 565-3157. Applications can be picked up at the administration office, 23 N. Washington St., Cortez, and are due by 5 p.m., Friday, March 7. Testing will take place on Saturday, March 15.
