Navigating the many successes and challenges of a decorated high school career, local swimmer Victoria Duran officially signed to swim for Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Her work with the Durango Swim Club helped her navigate through shoulder surgery and rehabilitation in 2021 to get her back to achieving one of her goals – to compete collegiately.

“Durango Swim Club also had many swimmers aspiring to swim collegiately, and I was able to watch them train, pursue, and accomplish that dream and it made me realize that it is possible even in a small, rural area to achieve these types of dreams, so it made me excited to do the same,” said Duran.

Now, with the new horizon ahead, Duran will continue to challenge her limits to vie for excellence at the NCAA Division II level.

“I am very excited to be joining this team and to be continuing my education at a university that honors God through their academics and athletics.”
