The 2024-2025 VFW scholarship for students in grades 6-8 is available contingent upon completing a 300-400 word essay titled “My Voice in America's Democracy?”
An entry form can be found at vfw9517.org under programs, “Patriot's Pen.” Essays must be submitted by Oct. 31. A participating local VFW Post pays $100 to one winner, and the national winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
The 2024-2025 VFW scholarship for high school freshmen through seniors is available contingent on a three-to-five-minute audio and written speech with a title of “Is America Today Our Forefathers' Vision?” The entry form can be found at vfw9517.org under programs, “Voice of Democracy.” Entries must be submitted in by Oct 31. A participating local VFW Post pays $100 to winner. National winner receives a $35,000 scholarship.
