‘Very positive impression’ of CD3 candidate Stout

On Saturday afternoon, Mayor Anna Stout, who recently announced her candidacy as a Democratic challenger for the 3rd Congressional District, visited with some of the La Plata Democrats at the Junction Creek Campground. Her campaign to send Lauren Boebert home to Rifle is barely a week old. She is firmly convinced that she can do a better job than the controversial “ultra-MAGA” incumbent.

Stout left a very positive impression among those in attendance. On her Facebook page, Stout for Congress, she said, “I have a record of listening to the people I represent and bringing people together to get things done.” In regard to listening, she gave opportunities to every person in attendance to either ask questions or voice their opinions on issues ranging from local to national to international topics. Also on her Facebook page is a video featuring Grand Junction issues that she takes pride in successfully addressing, such as affordable housing, increased child care opportunities and Western Colorado farmers having a voice in water negotiations. She takes significant pride in her participation at the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

The featured speaker was Colorado Board of Education member Kathy Plomer, who spoke of the challenges within the education system, along with her dedication and devotion to improving this system. Plomer had many friends and supporters in the audience.

Isn’t it refreshing that the conservative candidates in the race for CD3 are Democrats? Either a victory for Adam Frisch or Stout would be PROGRESS!
