Vendors invited to attend farmers market training

Training prepares vendors to participate in any farmers market in San Juan County

Vendors interested in participating in farmers markets in San Juan County are invited to attend the Northwest New Mexico Farmers Market Vendor Training and Retreat from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Henderson Fine Arts Center, Room 9008.

The event will include lunch and door prizes, information on the Northwest New Mexico market season plan, food safety and product labeling, marketing and business branding, farm business diversification and preseason market meetings and board elections.

Training required for participating in SNAP and WIC programs also will be offered.

Attendees will be able to complete all requirements for vending at all San Juan County markets and gain early access to vendor applications.

Preregistration is required by March 18 for lunch and prizes. All attendees will receive a grab bag and 100 customized farm business labels. Door prizes include a table, a canopy, a custom vinyl sign, a hand-washing station and harvesting crates.

Preregistered vendors will also be entered into a drawing for a free seasonal vendor space at each market.
