Ute Mountain RV Park south of Cortez set for Monday reopening

Ute Mountain Casino Hotel plans to reopen Sleeping Ute RV Park beginning Monday, and the 90-room hotel, gift shop and Kuchu’s Restaurant later this summer.

Revising an earlier announcement, spokesman Mike Wojtowicz said Saturday in an email the hotel and restaurant and gift shop’s opening would be delayed. Revised plans could be released as early as this week.

The Ute Mountain Casino and Hotel had ceased operations March 26 because of safety concerns over the coronavirus pandemic,

“Casino operations will remain closed until further guidance is provided by the Ute Mountain Tribe and the state of Colorado,” spokesman Mike Wojtowicz said Friday in a news release.

The Sleeping Ute RV Park is taking reservations beginning Monday. For more information, go to www.UteMountainCasino.com.
