Area students will have the opportunity to participate in the Southwest Colorado Education Collaborative’s Futures Fair and learn more about career opportunities and higher education in December.
The Futures Fair is scheduled for Dec. 4 at 8 a.m. at the Montezuma County Fairground, 30100 U.S. Highway 160 east of Cortez. Students from Montezuma-Cortez, Dolores, Mancos and Dove Creek high schools are invited.
“This event promises to provide an invaluable opportunity for Montezuma and Dolores County students to delve into an array of career pathways, discover local resources and explore education options,” event organizers said.
The fair is hosted by the Southwest Education Collaborative in collaboration with the LOR Foundation and Classic Air Medical.
Students may speak with representatives from local businesses, institutions of higher education and nonprofits, view interactive displays, and take part in career networking and breakout sessions.
“We are thrilled to host the Futures Fair, providing our local students with a firsthand look at the multitude of possibilities awaiting them beyond high school,” said Tai Rogers, career and college coordinator for the Southwest Colorado Education Collaborative. “This event serves as a bridge between education and the workforce, allowing students to explore various career options and make informed decisions about their future.”
