PaintCare, a nonprofit that runs a paint recycling program in Colorado, will hold a free recycling event in Dove Creek on Aug. 20.
Households and businesses are encouraged to drop off unused, unwanted paint at the events for proper disposal. The PaintCare program transports the collected paint from the drop-off sites to processing facilities. Once there, the paint is remixed into recycled paint whenever possible, used as fuel, made into other products or, in the case of some unrecyclable paint, dried out and properly disposed.
