Two men die in rollover crash Friday night in Farmington

Passenger ejected from vehicle; 19-year-old driver dies at hospital

The Farmington Police Department is investigating a double fatal single-car crash.

Officers were called out at 11:30 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Municipal Drive and Boyd Drive in response to a single-vehicle rollover crash, according to police spokeswoman Shanice Gonzales.

A 39-year-old male passenger was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, and the 19-year-old driver had to be extricated from the vehicle, Gonzales said.

The driver was taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center, where he died a few hours later, she said.

“Speed was a contributing factor” in the crash, Gonzales said, adding that “the investigation is ongoing.”

The Tri-City Record will update this story when more information becomes available.
