Phillips: Water project wrapping up this month

Town administrator Andrea Phillips says the $1.1 million Water System Improvement project should be wrapped up by the end of October.

As part of the project, the town’s contractor has installed a 430,000 gallon water storage tank, made upgrades to the pump house, and is working to tie in enlarged water lines and new valves at the Colorado Highway 184 and U.S. Highway 160 intersection.

The town worked with contractors to install a meter and to install wiring for a backup generator. All these improvements will help improve the resiliency of the water system and the treatment plant. Town administration anticipates that the water system overhaul will be completed by the end of this month. Town staff appreciates the understanding of Mancos water customers as water is temporarily shut down to allow for these upgrades to be made.
