Time for unifying yard signs

The editorial on July 6, “Cheney shines light on lie,” was indeed accurate, especially in the next to last paragraph, “we can’t tolerate any longer the lie that has ripped apart this country.” To paraphrase, it undermines our electoral process, erodes voter confidence and turns neighbor against neighbor.

I wonder why the political yard signs are still up, when the outcome has been obvious for over a year. I understand the original purpose of a yard sign is to sway public opinion, but a year later, it seems to me, the purpose is to be provocative and divisive.

I propose a new set of signs through the area, promoting a subject that is very hard to be against. I think a unifying subject would be schools, education and support of the staff who get up every morning to be the best they can be for our children.

Who could be against that?
