Three-car crash causes congestion on Main Street in Cortez

A three-car fender bender about noon Friday briefly tied up traffic on West Main Street in Cortez.

All three cars were in a westbound lane on West Main at North Chestnut Street. It appeared the rear-most of the three cars hit the car in front of it, which then hit the stopped car at the front.

According to Shawn Bittle, assistant chief of the Cortez Fire Protection District, no one was injured, no airbags were deployed, and all three cars were driven away from the scene. The man in the middle car, identified as Daniel McArthur, went to the hospital later Friday, said his wife, Anna McArthur.
