The Journal launches online subscriptions

On Monday, The Journal began charging for full digital access on The-Journal.com.

This is an important step that will strengthen our ability to bring you extensive coverage of Montezuma County and one we hope you will see as an investment in local news.

Visitors to The-Journal.com will be able to view up to five free articles a month. After that, they will be asked to choose from among three digital access subscriptions.

You may choose from among several options: $52 a year, a $4.99 a month and 75 cents a day. You may also subscribe to a Print Plus package that gives you a newspaper and online access for $63 a year.

“We are excited for this new addition,” said Shelly Tanner, director of circulation. “Registering for online access gives the subscriber complete control of their subscription. The subscriber will be able to see their expiration date, billing and contact information, make payments online, request vacation stops and starts, submit missed deliveries, and so much more.”

We will continue to publish a printed newspaper, as we have for 130 years.

Current print subscribers will receive an online subscription at no charge for the remainder of their subscription. Non-subscribers may read five stories per month at The-Journal.com.

If you are a print subscriber, you will receive full digital access for the remainder of your current subscription. Just register when prompted, and you will have immediate access.

Conveniently access your digital subscription on the device of your choice – smartphone, computer or tablet.
