I do not presume to know the angst, anger, sadness that our school nurses, public health department nurses and staff, hospital nurses, doctors, and staff must be feeling.
It is my bedrock belief that each of them does the work because they chose their jobs to care for people. They have worked long hours; they have witnessed terrible situations. And it seems right now that the terrible situations are outweighing situations that turn out well. Their jobs are about the wellness of our whole community.
Let’s celebrate what they do. Let’s thank them for what they do. Let’s listen to them and do what they ask. Our community will be healthier for it.
