‘Ted Cruz owes you a beer’

In a recent interview, an aggrieved Texas Sen. Ted Cruz claimed that the U.S. government wants to limit every person to two beers a week.

Fact Checking websites looked into this and found that U.S. health guidelines suggest a limit of two drinks a day (who knew?). The director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism talked about how the current recommendation in Canada of just two drinks a week might be a good idea.

Cruz then jumped up and down on social media, claiming the government will only allow you two beers a week and said people can kiss his rear.

That is false. These are just suggestions. Local government sets the liquor laws anyway. Of course, you can believe what you want to believe, but I believe Ted Cruz owes you a beer.
