The San Juan College Symphonic Band will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, April 28, in the Henderson Fine Arts Performance Hall.
The band, conducted by Dr. Teun B. Fetz, will play a variety of up-tempo music, with a selection of lyrical songs. San Juan College adjunct instructor for brass lessons, Cody Jackson will be a featured trombone soloist.
The band will perform “Amber Waves of Grain” by James Curnow, “Eric Clapton on Stage” by Paul Murtha, “Fanfare and Evocation” by John Moss, “Fantasy for Trombone” by James Curnow featuring a trombone solo by Jackson, “Garland Entrée March” by Karl King, “The Pennywhistle Song” by Leroy Anderson featuring the flute section, “Rephrygeration” by Todd Stalter, “Southern Hymn” by Samuel Hazo and “This Cruel Moon” by John Mackey.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors. Students and children 12 years old and younger are free. Tickets are available online, at San Juan College Bookstore, and at the door.
