The popular local music group Sweetwater Station will perform at Mancos State Park on Aug. 11, at 6 p.m., in the latest in the continuing series of musical events at the park.
This summer’s Mancos State Park music series was abbreviated after parts of the park were closed in June and early July because of the high fire danger. After fully reopening in mid-July, the park has resumed the music series.
Sweetwater Station is a contemporary folk-rock band featuring vocal harmonies, backed by mandolin, guitar, bass and percussion. The band perform familiar and original songs and regularly plays at the Mancos Brewing Co., Cortez Farmers Market and other locations in Southwest Colorado.
Band members include Marilyn Kroeker, vocals and guitar; Chris Rasmussen, vocals and percussion; Paul Berkowitz, mandolin and guitar; Raymond Rose, bass; Bill Kroeker, sound engineer and photographer.
The Sweetwater Station concert is free to the public with the required $7 park entry fee.
Mancos State Park is at 42545 County Road N at County Road 42. The park offers boating, fishing, hiking, camping and other activities on Jackson Gulch Reservoir. The park also offers registration for boats, ATVs and snowmobiles, as well as hunting and fishing licenses and annual state park passes.
The park draws visitors from throughout the Four Corners region.
