The Sunflower Troupe, which completed its Sunflower Shorts Festival earlier this month, is now preparing for its December play, Tom Dudzick’s “A Miracle on South Division Street.”
The troupe seeks a new director for a reprise of the holiday play that was its first production it put on in 2015 when the troupe established itself.
Outstanding director candidates will thrive if they love the theater and working with people. On top of their cultural skills, they need to be organized and a strong communicator.
The troupe, which consists of all volunteers, welcomes those who have experience with directing and/or acting, but it is not mandatory.
Those interested in this position can send an email to sunflowersteering@gmail.com that includes a name, address, phone number and email. The troupe also wants a brief resume.
According to a news release, as soon as the troupe selects a director, auditions will take place toward the end of September or early October. Rehearsals will be planned for October and November with performances lined up for Dec. 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17.
“Directing with the Sunflower is a wonderful way to make new friends while supporting community theater. Our troupe provides a strong support group because it is made up of volunteers who value the time and effort each contributes to the end result,” said Kim Welty, troupe executive producer.
The play will be held at the Sunflower Theatre and the troupe is a project of KSJD and the Community Radio Project.
