The Sunflower Theatre presents a performance by Portuguese-Canadian instrumentalist Awna Teixeira at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15. Doors and a cash bar open at 6:45 p.m.
Teixeira began her musical career in 2001 performing in North America and writing songs with various bands before 2005, when she joined Po’Girl, a Canadian act that toured internationally. Allison Russell and Teixeira becamd the core of Po’Girl, producing five albums and performing at least 200 shows a year doer seven years.
Awna, while working with Po’Girl, released her 1st solo album “Where The Darkness Goes” in 2012, her EP “Thunderbird” in 2013, and released her second solo album, “Wild One,” in March 2015.
