The sun has set on the Hesperus Ski Area’s season. It closed its lift Tuesday because warm weather reduced the snowpack.
Low snow forces lift to close early; tubing park will remain open conditions permitting
The Hesperus ski area will call it a season on lift operations.
The Big Horn lift closed at 6 p.m. Tuesday, but the tubing park will remain open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Check the snow report to confirm tubing operations before heading to the mountain.
Last week, the ski area announced it would be open daily because of lots of fresh snow, but the warm weather has whisked it away.
“We had hoped to remain open until March 20, but will be calling it a few days early due to warming conditions on the top of the mountain,” a news release said.
