Students receive dictionaries

The Dolores Rotary Club and Kinder Morgan donated dictionaries to Mancos students.

Rotary clubs throughout the world believe support the development of our youth, especially in the area of literacy. This year, over 40,000 Colorado third-graders in 1,700 classrooms will receive their own hardcover Scholastic Children’s Dictionary.

The dictionaries were presented to Mancos’ thrid-grade class, courtesy of the Dolores Rotary Club and the Kinder Morgan Foundation. Dolores Rotary Club members making the presentation were Vic Vieira and David Sanford.

The USA Dictionary Project was started by the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs in 2001. The Dolores Rotary Club has been participating since 2004. This is the fifth year that the Kinder Morgan Foundation has paid for the dictionaries.
