Recipients of the 2017 Four Corners Board of Realtors’ Dean Hanson Memorial Scholarship were honored Thursday at a luncheon at Main Street Brewery and Restaurant in Cortez. From left: Larissa Umberger, of Dolores High School; Kamaria Hill, of Mancos High School; Jessalyn Bay-Voit, of Mancos High School; Dylan Long, of Montezuma-Cortez High School; Kaylee Rose, of Mancos High School; and Bailey Duran, a student home-schooled with the Abeka program. Scholarship winners who weren’t able to attend the ceremony included: Kaeleen Boggs, of Montezuma-Cortez High School; and Corissa Guynes and Jessica Guynes, of Dove Creek High School. The $1,000 college scholarships are awarded yearly to area high school students who have demonstrated leadership, scholarship and financial need.
