Local and Mesa Verde National Park astronomers will host the second annual Star Party at the Morefield Campground Amphitheater on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 8-10 p.m.
Participants should arrive by 7:45 p.m. to park and set up seats, according to a news release from Julia Blumenthal.
Participants will get a look at Saturn’s rings and the Milky Way’s glittering treasures under the pristine, dark skies of Mesa Verde. Highlights will include constellation identification, multicultural sky stories and telescope views of objects in the sky.
Make sure to dress warmly, bring a camp chair and binoculars and leave your dogs at home. Only red lights will be allowed after dark.
Morefield Campground is located four miles into the park.
