Southwest Conservation Corps is hiring local high school students ages 14 to 18 for paid, outdoor summer opportunities.

Southwest Conservation Corps is hiring local high school students ages 14 to 18 for paid, outdoor summer opportunities. SCC has more than 60 positions available in the Four Corners.

SCC serves students from La Plata, Archuleta, Montezuma, Dolores, San Juan and Ouray counties as well as Northern New Mexico.

Students gain a variety of skills, from hands-on conservation experience to leadership, communication and teamwork. Programs will be four-week long camping programs that all students in the Four Corners area are eligible for.

In addition, a day crew program is offered for residents of Montezuma County. Two sessions are available: June 7 through July 3 and July 13 through Aug. 7.

Crew members are paid a minimum of $384 per week. Food, uniform and protective equipment are provided.
