Southwest Ag Seminar returns in October

The High Desert Conservation District will host the fifth annual Southwest Ag Seminar on Oct. 12.

The fifth annual Southwest Ag Seminar will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at Lewis Arriola Community Center, 21203 Road S.

The seminar is presented by The High Desert Conservation District and will include lectures by Greg Vlaming on water saving for FSA irrigators through HDCD-DWCD collaboration, Dale Strickler on drought resiliency for farm and ranch as well as grazing management for the farm and ranch, Patrick O’Neill on static pile composting and Joe Brummer on water use efficiency for high desert alfalfa production.

Cost to attend is $75 per farm. Lunch will be provided. Attendees will receive Dale Strickler’s latest book. For more information or to register, call 529-8368.
