The Journal

Slow Turbo will play an acoustic show from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 17 at WildEdge Brewing, 111 N. Market St.

Hailing from Flagstaff, Arizona, Slow Turbo is a group of rock veterans playing a mix of originals and indie/alt-rock covers. Inspired by bands like the Pixies, Pavement, the Strokes and Foo Fighters, they have rearranged classic songs to be played on acoustic guitars with percussion. Poer will open each show with a short solo set, followed by a performance from both players.

The show is free to the public.

Members of Slow Turbo have performed throughout the Southwest for nearly two decades in bands including the Shiners, Crooked Numbers, War Lights, Emperors of Japan and Sun Elk. For more information, visit www.warlightsmusic.com or www.slowturbo.com.
