Montezuma County has six active COVID-19 outbreaks, according to the Colorado Department of Health and Environment.
CDPHE defines an “outbreak” of COVID-19 as two or more people who contract the virus in a single location within 14 days.
The dates illnesses were determined to be an outbreak and locations are:
Nov. 12, Evangel Assembly of God in Cortez: Five attendees have tested positive.Nov. 12, CrossFit MRF/Mountain Range in Cortez: Six attendees have tested postive.Nov. 4, Underwood Optical in Cortez: Three staff have tested positive.Nov. 2, Curt Mangan Strings on County Road G: Three staff have tested positive.Oct. 27, Loungin’ Lizard in Cortez: Twelve staff have tested positive.Oct. 27, Cortez Livestock Auction in Cortez: Two staff have tested positive.As of Nov. 18, Montezuma County reported a total of 483 cases and four deaths because of COVID-19, up from 332 cases on Nov. 11, a 45% increase. There were 249 active cases and 228 recovered cases. Total negative tests have grown to 8,554.
