Wednesday, Oct. 4

9:08 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear.

3:27 p.m.: A woman was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:51 p.m.: A woman was arrested outside the Dolores Public Library, 1002 Railroad Ave., Dolores, on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

5:26 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to comply on a felony charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

7:58 p.m.: A woman was served with a warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, Oct. 5

8:28 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of North 15th Street on suspicion of violating a protection order and on a warrant for failure to comply.

10:33 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to comply.

12:01 p.m.: A woman was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

12:46 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

3:26 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge after he was pulled over for driving with a broken windshield. He was also issued a summons on suspicion of driving under restraint.

3:39 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear.

7:34 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of injured animals in the 25000 block of Colorado Highway 184. A deputy removed a dead deer from the road and killed a young deer that was tangled in a nearby fence with his sidearm.

Friday, Oct. 6

5:22 p.m.: Deputies assisted Bureau of Indian Affairs agents with an investigation in the 19000 block of County Road G. A woman claimed her sister had assaulted her. She was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries including scratches on her face, swollen lips and pain in her sides.

5:31 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1100 block of North Edith Street on a warrant.

9:47 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 16000 block of Colorado Highway 145 on four warrants for failure to appear.

Saturday, Oct. 7

1:57 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Second Chance Thrift Store, 96 Central Ave., Dolores, on a warrant for failure to appear.

Sunday, Oct. 8

3:16 p.m.: A deputy pulled over a driver for suspicious activity in the 500 block of Riverside Avenue in Dolores and arrested a passenger on a warrant for failing to appear in court.

8:42 p.m.: An intoxicated man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman at a residence in the 14400 block of County Road 32.1. in Mancos. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital and jailed.

4:01 a.m.: A deputy encountered two women standing beside a car in the 4200 block of U.S. Highway 160 and arrested the passenger on a warrant for violating conditions of her probation and cited the driver for obstructing a highway.

Monday, Oct. 9

12:54 p.m.: A man was arrested on a felony hold at a residence in the 6700 block of County Road 24 on suspicion of first-degree arson, criminal mischief after his mother reported that he was inside the home, igniting paper and trying to burn down the house. The man also was armed with a knife and was reportedly stabbing the wall.

Tuesday, Oct. 10

12:00 a.m.: A man buying gasoline at the Maverik station in the 12900 block of U.S. Highway 491 reported that he noticed that the coolant and fuel hoses on his truck had been cut, apparently while it was parked overnight near the John Deere dealership.

12:51 p.m.: A woman in the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160 reported that her car caught fire while she and her husband towed it behind their RV. The Cortez Fire Protection District extinguished the flames.

5:34 p.m.: A woman at a residence in the 35400 block of County Road P.4 was cited for possessing an uncontrolled dog after a man complained that three dogs had clawed at his car door. He estimated that the dogs had caused about $250 in damage, but said his insurance would cover it.

6:43 p.m.: A woman driving a U-Haul truck in the 16000 block of Colorado Highway 145 was warned about driving outside of her lane. Her friend, who was driving a car behind the truck, was cited for driving with a suspended Colorado driver’s license and a suspended Arizona license plate.

12:18 a.m.: A deputy assisted a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer who was conducting a K-9 search of a vehicle near the intersection of U.S. Highways 491 and 160 in Towaoc. According to the deputy, the vehicle search produced cannisters containing about 64 grams of marijuana resin, even though individual stores may sell only 8 grams to a buyer. Because of suspicion that the two men were involved in the illegal smuggling of Colorado marijuana into Arizona, and the seizure occurred inside federal jurisdiction, the items were collected by the BIA officer for federal investigation.

Wednesday, Oct. 11

8:58 a.m.: A man was arrested at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St., after turning himself in on a warrant for failing to comply with a court order.

10:28 a.m.: A deputy responding to a call about a wounded deer in the 11100 County Road 25 shot and killed the deer with a single bullet.

3:03 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 858 N. Park St., for failing to appear.
