3:50 p.m.: A motorcyclist was pulled over near County Roads 30 and T after allegedly traveling 70 mph. He was ticketed for no motorcycle endorsement on his driver’s license and no proof of insurance. He received warnings for speeding and no registration. The motorcycle was towed.
Wednesday, June 29
11:10 a.m.: A woman reported that American and Colorado flags had been stolen from the Outpost Hotel, 1800 Central Ave., in Dolores. She valued them at $50 each.
2:01 p.m.: Two women and a man were given no-trespass orders after allegedly stealing a moccasin and a boot from The Antique Corral, 6817 U.S. 160. No charges were filed; the shop owner indicated she preferred a civil settlement.
Thursday, June 30
11:12 a.m.: A man showed a deputy a glass jar containing marijuana and a pipe that he had found lying in the grass at County Roads 27.3 and M. It was confiscated.
6:45 p.m.: A driver hit a parked car near Central and Ninth streets in Dolores after, she said, she was distracted by her passenger.
9:03 p.m.: A driver with a nonworking headlight was pulled over at Fourth St. and Railroad Ave. in Dolores and ticketed for driving with a canceled license.
Friday, July 1
7:05 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment in the 11100 block of County Road 24.3 after a fight with another man.
Sunday, July 3
12:01 a.m.: A man was ticketed for DUI at County Roads 26 and P, for failing to drive in a single lane and for failing to show financial responsibility and current registration.
11:26 p.m.: Two inmates at the Montezuma County jail decided not to file charges against each other after a fight.
Monday, July 4
11:39 a.m.: A brush fire was reported in the 11200 block of County Road G, across the road from Battlerock School. Firefighters extinguished it.
7:19 p.m.: A landlord faces a charge of criminal mischief after he admitted that he used a backhoe to move a renter’s car without permission at County Roads 30 and S.2. A deputy observed damage to the car’s window, undercarriage and gear shifter, which the car’s owner estimated to be about $900. The property owner gave a deputy cell phone photos of the car and backhoe.
9:25 a.m.: A couple visited the Sheriff’s Office to report two fraudulent charges to their credit card totaling $779.56.
6:30 p.m.: A man who was wanted on a felony warrant was arrested at gunpoint after he was spotted in a car in the 13000 block of Colorado Highway 145. The female driver was released. The Colorado State Patrol assisted in the arrest.
Thursday, July 7
7:55 p.m.: A woman reported that someone, or perhaps some squirrels, had apparently entered her home in the 12400 block of County Road 41 and broke a couple of dishes valued at a total of $50 total. A deputy observed that the dish strainer might have been overloaded, causing the dishes to fall.
7:03 p.m.: A cashier at a liquor store in the 24000 block of County Road G.2 reported that he swung a baseball bat at three men who demanded money. He said the men fled in a lifted, silver Dodger pickup truck.
9:31 a.m.: A Spanish-speaking employee at a farm in the 27800 block of U.S. Highway 491 was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital with a head injury after flipping an off-road vehicle in a field.
10:27 a.m.: An inmate at the Montezuma County jail was served a warrant.
1:50 p.m.: A restaurant in the 100 block of S. 11th St. in Dolores reported the theft of two wood planters valued at a total of $100.
