1:39 p.m. A man with a warrant turned himself in to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, March 21 ​

12:35 p.m. A man with warrants was arrested and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. ​

Monday, March 24 ​

2:48 p.m. A man with active warrants was arrested and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. ​

Friday, March 28 ​

4:18 p.m. A man was booked on multiple warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. ​

Saturday, March 29 ​

7:26 p.m. Deputies responded to the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Mancos for a reckless driver traveling at an estimated 100 mph.​ A man was arrested after a high-speed pursuit and crash. He allegedly was speeding, swerving and running vehicles off the road. After a high-speed pursuit through Cortez and surrounding county roads, he crashed his vehicle into a guardrail on County Road. He was cited for DUI, driving on a revoked license, reckless driving and 13 other charges.

Sunday, March 30

7:41 a.m. A man contacted the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office after he exchanged explicit photos with a TikTok user who, after he sent photos, claimed to be a 12-year-old girl and demanded $300, threatening to contact the FBI if he did not send the money. The sender also impersonated an FBI officer. ​The man did not send money and reported the incident in the 100 block of Ute Trail Road in Towaoc. ​ Deputies advised him to block the sender, and the case remains active.

10:51 a.m. Trespassing cattle caused damage to an alfalfa field in the 13000 block of Road X in Yellow Jacket. ​

7:33 p.m. A man was arrested on felony warrants during a traffic stop at the intersection of Road W and U.S. Highway 491 in Lewis.

Tuesday, April 1

8:21 a.m. An abandoned vehicle was towed from private property in the 100 block of U.S. Highway 491 in Cortez. ​

1:47 p.m. A vehicle rolled over into a ravine the 27000 block of Colorado Highway 145 in Dolores. The driver was uninjured and he was able to drive the car to meet with state troopers in Rico. ​

Thursday, April 3 ​

11:04 a.m. A man was remanded to custody and booked into jail for bond revocation at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

5:42 p.m. Deputies responded to Birch Drive and Park Street in Cortez, where a man was arrested on an active warrant during a traffic stop.

Monday, April 7 ​

10:50 p.m. A woman was cited for driving without a valid license during a traffic stop in the 25000 block of Road H in Cortez.

11:19 a.m. A man was remanded to custody at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and booked into jail.
