11:50 a.m. A deputy took a report in the 24000 block of Road G for a theft of $1,200 that a man was saving to attend his nephew’s wedding.

Saturday, April 20

8:41 a.m. A deputy took a report for a stolen vehicle that was rented by a woman who failed to return the vehicle to Rentz LLC, 7378 Road 24.3.

Tuesday, April 30

9:44 p.m. A deputy took a report for property damage at 16295 Road N. The woman reporting the incident stated her ex-husband and co-owner of the property ran through a fence and gate he installed, then ran over her water spigot. The deputy found a piece of the suspect’s bumper lying in their yard.

Wednesday, May 8

11:28 a.m. A deputy took a report from the Colorado Division of Wildlife Officers that the vehicle of a man that was contacted in the Bradfield Bridge area of 20000 Road S two weeks before had not seemed to move since. The deputy contacted the man’s sons regarding the DOW officers concerns that the man was possibly missing. His sons said they saw him four days before to the deputy’s contact, they said their dad was picking up his prospecting equipment. The man was safely located by deputies a short time later. He was out prospecting for gold at a gravel bar in the Cabin Canyon Campground and McPhee Dam area.

12:34 p.m. A deputy took a report for fraud in the 14500 block of Road W.

Sunday, May 12

7:07 p.m. A deputy took a report for a vehicle crash at 46000 U.S. Highway 160. No occupants were found, and the case was passed along to the Colorado State Patrol investigators.

Monday, May 13

10:59 a.m. A deputy took a report for a stolen vehicle at 10766 Road 34.

12:50 p.m. A deputy took a report for a cold assault from a man that stated the assault happened in the 25000 Block of Road F.

8:56 p.m. A deputy took a report for a protection order violation regarding an inmate of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, May 15

9:14 a.m. A deputy arrested a man on a warrant at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Thursday, May 16

9:28 a.m. A deputy took a report for a cold assault at 14852 Road 29.

7:19 p.m. A deputy took a report for a disturbance at 41777 Colorado Highway 184.

Friday, May 17

12:24 a.m. A deputy took a report for a structure fire on a property where the remains of a homemade coop and an adult chicken were found after a driver passing the area called 911 when he noticed that the fire did not look like a bonfire in the 20900 block of U.S. Highway 491 in Pleasant View. The report states the fire was likely caused from a faulty extension cord.

2:27 a.m. A deputy took a report for an ATV crash at Road 22 and Road W in Lewis. Two women were found at the scene and taken to the Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, by passersby. One woman said she had no memory of the accident, and the report stated she received staples for two cuts on the back of her head. The other woman also received staples in her head, and she stated that they were with a man who, “got a four-wheeler and then (they) drove south on the road and crashed, making a turn. The man lifted the ATV off them and how she watched her friend have a seizure and confirmed that they were both taken to the hospital by people passing by. The man was later found in the 20900 block of Road 22, cited with DUI and careless driving, then released to a sober party.

7:19 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of careless driving, eluding a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, and second-degree assault on a peace officer in the 17300 block of Road 30.

8:57 p.m. A deputy took a report for property damage at 41777 Colorado Highway 184. A woman reported a truck pulling a trailer full of tires caused damage to her parked vehicle when one of the tires fell off, rolled down the hill and struck her vehicle.

Saturday, May 18

11:27 a.m. A deputy took a report for assisting the Bureau of Land Management agency in the 10500 block of Road 34. The deputy arrested a man on suspicion of violating a no-contact protection order.

2:14 p.m. A deputy cited a man with driving while revoked in the 25000 block of Road H.

7:01 p.m. A deputy took a report for providing civil standby service to a third party man as he executed a court order to removed the property of a woman from a location in the 18000 block of Colorado Highway 145.

7:46 p.m. A deputy arrested a man on a warrant at the Outpost Motel, 1800 Central Ave., the man had just finished executing a court order to remove the property of a woman from a location in the 18000 block of Colorado Highway 145.

10:02 p.m. A deputy took a report for a restraining order violation at 41777 Colorado Highway 184. The reporting woman stated in the report that a dog owned by a restrained man who lives in the 41400 block of Colorado Highway 184 came onto her property. The man was cited with dog not being under control.

Sunday, May 19

3:48 p.m. A deputy cited a man at 17995 Road 30 with hunting wildlife/waterfowl out of season after two reports were made of a man shooting geese on the riverbank was made.

10:11 p.m. A deputy responding to a reported disturbance arrested a man on two warrants in the 25000 block of Road N.

Monday, May 20

1:33 a.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 11090 block of Road 20.

2:02 p.m. A deputy took a report from a woman who received a scratch after one of the nine chihuahuas bit her at a residence in the 21000 block of Road N.
