2:47 p.m. A deputy took a report of simple assault from a man in the 24000 block of U.S. Highway 184 in Dolores.

11:43 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 14000 block of County Road 31 in Mancos.

Wednesday, Dec. 27

11:51 p.m. A deputy responded to a report of a fight between inmates at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and issued a warrant for failure to appear to one man and cited another man with third-degree assault.

Thursday, Dec. 28

4:25 p.m. A deputy took a report from a man for larceny from a vehicle for a stolen license plate at the 2200 Block of Hawkins St. in Cortez.

11:55 p.m. A woman was turning herself over to the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant. A deputy cited her with a protection order violation for consuming alcohol prior to turning herself into custody.

Friday, Dec. 29

5:27 p.m. A woman was cited with and arrested under suspicion of domestic violence and harassment when a report was made of a vehicle swerving on the highway as a passenger was seen punching the driver at 3 Weeminuche Drive in Towaoc.

Saturday, Dec. 30

2:17 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and DUI per se in the 500 block of Railroad Ave. Dolores.

2:10 p.m. A deputy took a report of an aggravated assault in the 18000 block of Road 14 in Yellow Jacket, where a man was threatened with a revolver.

11:01 p.m. Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person with a gun in the 28000 block of Road 38 in Dolores, when an unknown man was seen on the property owner’s Ring camera with his dog and hunting rifle. The gunman reported having been wandering for days after his vehicle broke down, during which time he and his dog had not eaten, and that was the first house they had been able to locate to ask for help.

Sunday, Dec. 31

3:57 p.m. A man was cited with fourth-degree arson, and another man was arrested for two warrants for failing to appear after a report was made that a controlled burn turned into a brush fire and caused property damage in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in the southeast part of the county.

7:54 p.m. A deputy took a report of an ordinance violation involving an aggressive dog in the 14000 block of Road 22 in the northwest county.

Monday, Jan. 1

4:59 p.m. A man in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in the southeast county was arrested on a warrant.

9:52 p.m. A man was cited with DUI and DUI per se in the 12000 block of U.S. Highway 491 in the southwest county.

Tuesday, Jan. 2

4:41 p.m. A man and woman visiting Dolores from El Paso, Texas, were reported missing by a family member, and a search and rescue team was dispatched to the 27000 block of U.S. Highway 145 in Dolores. The couple was found near the Little Bear Creek Trailhead and flown out by helicopter. The man was transported to Durango’s Mercy Hospital for the treatment of severe frostbite on his right foot.

Wednesday, Jan. 3

12:03 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police and harassment in the 11000 block of Road 24.3 in the southwest county.

11:33 a.m. A deputy found and placed into evidence a wallet that contained an Arizona driver’s license, multiple credit/debit cards, cash and a passport in the 32000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in the southeast county.

5:48 p.m. A deputy served a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., a warrant for failure to appear.

8:49 p.m. A deputy issued a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., a summons for a third-degree assault and bias-motivated crime after it was reported that he attacked a fellow inmate.

Thursday, Jan. 4

1:50 p.m. A deputy took a report for a simple assault and a possible violation of a protection order in the 17000 block of Road 24 in Dolores.

Friday, Jan. 5

1:43 p.m. A deputy took a report for harassment by electric communication in the 6100 Block of Road 41, in Mancos.

Saturday, Jan. 6

9:40 a.m. A man made a report for a fraudulent charge on his bank account in the 18000 block of Road Z in Yellow Jacket.
