Wednesday, Jan. 7

7:12 p.m. Deputies took a report of a burglary from a woman who said her medicine box was taken from her home in the 28000 block of Road K.2.

10:39 p.m. While patrolling in the 2000 block Highway 160, a deputy was following a Chevy Malibu with out-of-state plates, and it was determined the registration was not valid. The deputy pulled the driver over and the deputy asked the driver if he had missed any of his insurance payments. The man told the deputy that he probably had because he was out of work. The man was issued a summons for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Thursday, Jan. 8

4:05 p.m. A deputy responded to the Dolores Community Center for a report of an accident. Two drivers backed into each other in the parking lot. After talking to both drivers, the deputy determined they had in fact backed out simultaneously and collided in the middle of the parking lot. Based upon this information, the deputy was unable to determine a fault vehicle.

Saturday, Jan. 10

1:55 p.m. A man in the 27000 block of County Road T.5 reported his mailbox was vandalized. It appeared to be smashed from north to south. Pictures were taken of the damaged mailbox. The estimated value of the mailbox was $19.99.

Sunday, Jan. 11

7:53 p.m. Deputies responded to the 23000 block or Road M for a domestic disturbance. A man was arrested for violating a protection order. He told deputies that he had consumed 17 beers and some marijuana prior to arriving at the protected person’s home. After being arrested, the man was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital so he could be medically cleared before being transported to jail.

11:39 p.m. A deputy was following a vehicle when he observed “a lit cigarette thrown from the driver side of the vehicle and then explode into sparks when it hit the Hwy.” The deputy stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver who said she was sorry for throwing the cigarette out the window. She was issued a summons for throwing burning material from a motor vehicle.

Tuesday, Jan. 13

11:16 p.m. A deputy was traveling in the 7000 block of Highway 160 and observed a driver cross the right fog line twice. The driver was pulled over and did not have a valid driver’s license. The driver was issued a summons for driving when license under restraint and the vehicle was left at the scene per the driver’s request.
