Tuesday, March 7

6:37 a.m. A utility trailer that was on a job site in the 18900 block of County Road 27 was dragged to the intersection of Road 26 and Colorado Highway 184. Several power tools and a generator were reported stolen from the job site.

Tuesday, March 28

4:07 p.m. A woman at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, March 29

4:32 p.m. After a man and his neighbor in the 11500 block of County Road G got into a fight, one neighbor allegedly tried to run over the other neighbor, who reportedly fired a handgun. Because of conflicting stories and lack of evidence, no charges were pursued.

Thursday, March 30

8:23 a.m. A dog in the 14800 block of Road 22 chased a patrol vehicle. The owner was given a verbal warning and reminded that dogs need to be contained on the owner’s property.

2:08 p.m. An officer served a failure to appear warrant to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:09 p.m. A man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:55 p.m. An officer served a warrant for failure to comply to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:01 p.m. A man driving in the 1500 block of East Empire Street did not stop for a school bus. The man was cited with failure to stop for a school bus.

Friday, March 31

10:26 a.m. An officer served a failure to comply warrant to a man and a warrant to a different man. Both men were in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, April 1

8:22 p.m. A man in the 9600 block of Road G was arrested on suspicion of menacing and domestic violence. The man had sent numerous threatening text messages to a woman in Utah.

Saturday, April 4

4:59 a.m. A man who crashed in the 21000 block of U.S. Highway 491 was arrested on a warrant.

10:21 a.m. Two dogs were loose in the 9500 block of Road 29.2. The woman who owns the dogs was cited.

12:06 p.m. A woman who refused to remove her mobile home from Elegant Hills Estates trailer park, 28330 Road K.2, again promised to move the home, saying that her brother possibly was staying in the trailer at night. No charges were requested.

7:18 p.m. A woman who swerving in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 160 was pulled over in the 200 block of West Main Street in Cortez and arrested on suspicion of DUI. The woman elected perform roadside maneuvers, but when she was told how to perform the first maneuver, she told the officer to arrest her.

8:22 p.m. An officer served a warrant for failure to appear to a woman in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Sunday, April 5

2:13 a.m. An abandoned truck in the 18000 block of Colorado Highway 145 was towed.

10:36 a.m. A man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Detention Center, 730 E Driscoll St.

6:27 p.m. A man in the 300 block of 15th Street was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

Wednesday, April 8

5:41 p.m. A man in the 34000 block of County Road P. 2 fought a husband and wife working alongside the road. The man was cited with assault.

9:58 p.m. Two men at in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., were cited with introduction and possession of contraband. A bag contained a fermentation meant to produced alcohol had been found in the men’s cell.
